Adam i would like to know if you can get your hands on a shifting unit like the linkage from the shifter stick all the way to the trnasmission the car is a 1989 ford escort gt 1.9L efi H.O. 5spd standerd, if so how much.

someone told me you know alot about escorts :)

as of rate now i have no idea but under the car near the front fire wall it hits someting but i have no idea what part of the shiter linkage is broken

if your shift linkage is hitting something its likely your Rear Engine/transmission mount.

or it could be bent pretty bad and that isnt hard to do either. 1 bar is a stabilizer bar and the other does the actual shifting . i'd have to look it up but i think your shift linkage is the same as mine.

my dad said its a bar that goes from the shifter to tranny linkage,but the stick moved way forward than normal at the begging of the season so i had to reach way forward just to bring it back to second gear,but the person that was in racing it was reefing on the stick and everything like slaming it hard through the gears he was ruff on it.but really I dont know much about the car i just race it lol :D

hey adam we just got the car ready to race this weekend trying to repair the old part put the bottom of the shifter stick there is a some kind of ball link that fits drops in to some unit that is conected to some rod that links to the tranny so i would like to get the shift stick and the peice/par that connects to it

hehe parts for late 80's escorts are extremely hard to find , i've been keeping my eyes open.

if you like the escorts jonny maybe next season build up a 2nd gen escort ( 1992-1996 ) ive run one for 2 years an only had to fix what i broke , and they can be pretty competitive everyone here can vouch for that.

in the mean time i'll keep my eyes open for you , right now the best i can do for a right drive axle shaft is go to part source .

i just called part source here in Brampton they have 4 in stock and are $90 + $50 core , so when you take your core in you get your $50 back

thanks Adam for the response, but i know its so hard to find late 80 escorts because so far if we could not find the part, we remade the broken one but rate now thats what it looks like we are going to do. but thank you anyway Adam.
