maybe it is time to limit the field to 18 cars again.
Maybe it is time to use the black flag for drivers stopping at the start/finish line, as was mentioned at the start of the year. That would have eliminated at least 10 caution laps, maybe more.
The clean up truck was also responsible for at least 10 extra caution laps due too their dash onto the track.
Lastly,if the restart rule THAT WAS DETERMINED IN THE DRIVERS MEETING, was properly enforced that would have eliminated the final caution and likely changed the race winner.

Well, there is one thing that remains consistent - inconsistencies!

Some things just never change. Sure takes the wind out of my sails..... But then again that is to be expected when all the hot air is blowing elsewhere

Hmm , perhaps i dropped in at a bad time ? by the sounds of it nothing has really changed at varney beside a few track side upgrades. the over all attitude an general atmosphere still puts me off . which is now the main reason im not returning to race at varney . It seems few are still clouded with determination to win an will do so at another's expense willingly .
So much for taking a car from the street and putting the bare safety needs in an goin racing for the weekend.
Some are a joy and a pleasure to race with , others are so focused on putting the blame on another for not being consistent with rule enforcement.

Shall i remind everyone the rules enforcement STARTS at the Driver an his/her crew? Every team at varney is of a mature enough age where they shouldn't need somebody to babysit them at tech lane or on the track.

If a member of varney's staff is not upholding his / her duty to keep the terms fair for everyone with out a bias opinion then that member should be replaced regardless of relations to the owners or other staff

I have been up an kept a low profile but have seen the same tempers flare and the same people conflicting with each other ...

Now please sit back and ask your self is this really FUN anymore? or has it turned into something you feel you are obligated to do ?

At least there isn't controversy like this:

NEW YORK - The World Jewish Congress is calling for Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone to resign after he was quoted as saying that Adolf Hitler "got things done."

In the interview with London's The Times newspaper, Ecclestone also said democracy "hasn't done a lot of good for many countries - including this one."

In a statement Sunday, Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, says Ecclestone is not fit to serve as head of Formula One and calls on teams, drivers and host countries to suspend their co-operation with him.

Ecclestone, who owns F1's commercial rights, has drawn criticism before. He once said women should dress in white "like all other domestic appliances."

We all start the season hoping things will be better, the officials stand tall and tell everyone "this is how its going to be", everyone thinks YEAHHHH FINALLY, but then week after week things are let go. Complaining only seems to work for a select few. But Adam, thru sheer determination WE WILL HAVE FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just when you think things are at an all time low Varney goes out of it,s way to make it even worse. The officiating Saturday night absolutely stank Obviously they all had there heads up somewhere where I can't even get mine. There were 3 attempts to spin me before Lundy succeded.Sherry blatantly spun Tolton causing a 6 car wreckThe only time the black flag was displayed was the cross flags(black and red).Roof of my car is the only panel not hit.Usually takes a lot to disgust me but I now have lost respect for pretty well every official at the track.Maybe we should take the parking attendants from the parking lot, they would do a way better job.

it was actually charles that spun tolton and it was extremely bad from every track offical this weekend this got way out of hand and is just going to get worse now if they dont do anything about it.and just so you know clark me and tolton were at the track till 1am fighting with flag man and ken and steve about the non calls made and joe made both calls saying it was toltons fault that he went around and not the 7 thats why he didnt get the black or counted as an involved car. in your case both joe and ken say you got lose out of 4 to miss the 02 and lundy just got into your rear end, they called it a racing deal. we told both of them to get there eyes checked or to actually start watching the race. all steve said he could do for us all was to have a track meeting which is to happen this week before saturday with just officals because they are a group of officals at varney that agree joe should no longer be in the stand so all i can say is lets see what happens.

Varney needs a new flagman. The current one has selective vision and is NOT impartial. He lets his favourites get away with things and penalizes those he does not like unnecessarily. Among some track officials he is known as "One More Lap Joe". These officials have witnessed him add more laps to a race so his favourite person can have more laps to pass the leader. He is also known to end a race early when one of his favourites is in the lead and in jeopardy of losing that lead.
I was told by two of the more senior track officials that when the current flagman was questioned as to why a certain driver got a black flag in the final Super Street Stock feature of 2008 the response was because "his father pissed me off this week". The saddest part is that the people in charge know how bad this flagman is yet he continues to be used as the sole judge, jury and executioner. Why bother having officials in turn 2 and turn 4 if they don't have a say in determining who is and who is not an involved car? Those two people could surely work in the concession booths and speed up the service or better yet trade them with the parking lot attendants. As old as Gordie is, his vision is much better than all the others combined and he is as honest as the day is long. Something the current starter is not.
Too bad there was not a system in place that could be used to automatically count the laps, determine each driver’s position accurately and display this to the fans and other competitors. Even if there were something like this available to the track I am convinced that in a hypothetical situation the current starter would find a way to interfere with the implementation of such a system by not cooperating. This would hypothetically be done to the point that anyone assisting the track would walk away in disgust even after several discussions with track officials about where the problem is. Of course the track officials would hypothetically turn their backs on that person, ignore his offers to help complete such a system outside of race times and treat him like he never existed. IF something like this were to happen it would allow the current starter to totally screw up the following week of racing.
But what does it matter, anyone going through tech that fails gets a free pass anyway.
The Toronto Maple Leafs can snatch defeat from the claws of victory. Varney has regained pathetic status from the cusp of being the best short track around.

Glad to hear that!
After great thought about all the problems created in last week's feature there is only one way to resolve things, that is to give everyone the 50 points for the race as discussed in the drivers meeting. What the heck happened to that??? That is - everyone except those who are deserving of black flags. I would truly love to see the points and payouts reflect those who are deserving rather than those who have bullied, complained, and smashed their way to the top.
