A last minute decision and Clark took the car out of the garage and was off to race again. Ingrid and I followed a few hours later. There were only 7 cars but with 6 of them Mustangs it was exciting to watch. The heats were actually more fun to watch than the feature. Clark won them both starting from the back each time. The track decided to start Clark at the back of the feature even though every other class was fast cars to the front. The first 1/3 of the feature was exciting but once Clark got around the fast cars from South Buxton he annihilated the entire field. It was a great race!
D.J. Kennington was there as well, running in another class. I talked to him for a bit. He is a pretty nice down to earth guy.

Well it sure wasn't Oktoberfest but they paid better to win than Flamboro. For a small track that is struggling he paid out more than Casale. With 46 mini stocks I am sure he could do better than 200 to win.Dennis would have to win it 2.5 times to break even with what he got at Varney.

Congrats Clark!!
They must have been rough down there- your car is looking a little worse for wear. I think that's the most banged up I have ever seen it.

Actually all the damage was done at Varney by the 82 from Sauble the weekend before. We thought the car the car was parked for the winter so we left it alone. As John said it was a last minute decision to go to Grand Bend.If they are still running next year you should come down.Second paid as well as first at Slamboro

And I was so careful not to mention "Grand Bend" so that you would not have too much competition for the big money next year. Now that the cat is out of the bag, we should try to get all of Hillbilly Racing to go to Grand Bend and try to support his fledgling track. I sure hope he makes it.
