WHAT A RACE
Unfortunately some of the Stock 4 drivers misunderstood. While it really was an invitational, several of them thought it was a "Street Stock Imitational". Dusty would have been proud! It was supposed to be a 30 lap race. After finally getting to Lap 3 after at least 4 restarts it was decided to cut it down to a 20 lap race. Then when the red flag came out on lap 12 it was turned into a 15 lap race.

RACE WINNING PASS(ES)
Dennis passed Clark 4 times to take the lead but Clark never passed Dennis. That is one for the trivia books.

LOUDEST NOISE MAKER
Apparently the 38 spun someone in turn 4 but only a loud-mouthed fan saw it. During the caution, all you could hear when the 38 went past the grandstand was this idiot screaming "38 to the back".
After the big lap 12 crash when the driver of the 37 appeared to get his breath back and lose the brids flying around his head like in a cartoon, the fans gave him a well deserved round of applause.

BONEHEADED MOVE OF THE RACE
It appears that the driver of the 34 went to the Kyle Busch school of sportsmanship. In what was a very powerful and well handling car this driver decided to park it instead of going to the back after causing a caution. He easily had a top 5 car.

HARD CHARGER OF THE RACE
This award must go to Jacob Robb, who was the main star in the 2007 Hillbilly Racing DVD (after learning from his older brother "00"). After being robbed (no pun intended) of what should have been a guaranteed spot in the last chance qualifier he had to race his way into that and then into the Classic. During the first heat another driver misunderstood the concept of a left turn and the Looney Tunes took the brunt of that. This left Jacob with about as much vision as a 3'6" little old lady peering over the dash of a '67 Caddy. Then in the last chance qualifier Jacob drove 7 laps with a flat left front tire to race his way into the Classic.

BIGGEST CHEATER OF THE RACE
The #9 on two counts. First he always drove on the low side of the track where his car handled better. Second, he drove car number 9 while wearing a driver's suit bearing number 19.

SMARTEST MOVE OF THE RACE
I think this has to go to the #76 from Barrie. After finishing 6th in the last chance, instead of racing in the Classic where he could have easily ended up with less money, he decided to take the $110.00 and run. (run - as in go home)

NOT TO BE FORGOTTEN
For the most part the Stock 4 guys (and girl) from the other tracks were a nice friendly bunch to talk to. Fortunately there was no repeat of the events from last year when the driver from Sauble had to receive some Hillbilly justice.

ALL IN ALL
I think the weekend was a huge success. Considering this was their first go at it, next year should be even better after the few blips are fixed.

Agreed,I think overall the weekend was a big success,if the weather had cooperated a bit more it would have been a truly awesome weekend.Certainly a very good first effort,I was impressed with the amount of work done at the track over the course of one week. From cleaning up the van carnage, clearing and grading the pits, the improved tire wall in turn 1/2,painting,extra track workers/cleanup/ambulance.Really a job well done.I think Ken was maybe a bit dissapointed with the fan count but that really was due to weather, which Ken is no doubt aware of.
As an interesting sidenote,I believe that this was the highest winning payout for 4 cylinder minis in ontario stock car racing history, guess I am in the record books for at least a year or so, :D

It was NOT you Mr. Hoss! I didn't see the incident so I don't know if a call was missed. The idiot was one or two rows in front of you and on the opposite side of the grandstand. Some people were booing in a rational way but this guy was just making an ass out of himself and in my OPINION embarrasing Varney to the visitors.

I am at Flamboro a week early , no where close to Varney and i still get credit for the SS style races in the S4. Thanks for noticing we SS drivers do like to share.
On a serious note thanks to everyone who helped make this my best year yet. Dusty
